CASARAFFAELLA is an artist residency dedicated to Raffaella Carrà — singer, actress, native of Bologna and citizen of the world — a champion of pop culture, the joy of living, human rights, and the international dimension of music, art and beauty.
CASARAFFAELLA is a 140-square-meter residence just a few meters from Parco Pierangelo Bertoli, where Teatri di Vita is located, in a strategically well-connected area.
It is situated in Bologna, 200 meters from Borgo Panigale suburban railway station; 100 meters from Cinta Teatri Di Vita bus stop and the future Red Tram Line connecting to the city centre; and 2 km from Bologna Airport, reachable via bus line 54.
In 2022, Teatri di Vita acquired the building and carried out renovation works based on a project by architect Andrea Adriatico, making use of the 110% tax credit incentive offered by the government.
The result is a modern, functional, fully independent house spread across three floors, featuring a spacious living area with bathroom on the ground floor, three bedrooms with two bathrooms on the first floor, and a loft-level living/bedroom area with bathroom and a terrace.
The house is in energy class A and is fully self-sufficient thanks to photovoltaic panels and a heat pump system.
It features a fully equipped kitchen, as well as heating and air conditioning in every room. A washing machine and dishwasher are also provided.
The property includes free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station available at a subsidised rate.
The residence was officially inaugurated on June 18, 2024, Raffaella Carrà’s birthday.
The primary aim of CASARAFFAELLA is to help artists who need to stay in Bologna for artistic and cultural projects ease the financial burden of accommodation costs, while also providing a temporary home for guests and artists involved with Teatri di Vita.
During periods when it is not being used for its primary purpose, anyone may stay at the residence by contacting info@casaraffaella.it or by finding it on platforms for short-term rentals. In all cases, the proceeds will support the cultural activities of L’ALTRA cooperative.
